Thank you, Mr. Dewberry

I went into The Material Girls Quilts the other night, with only 10 minutes before they closed. I had planned on buying Joel Dewberry's Aviary II to use for the pattern cover photo of this quilt. Unfortunately for me, which seems to always happen (hello, procrastination?), a lot of Aviary II was sold out, and what was left wouldn't work for my quilt.

Fortunately for me, they had just gotten Joel Dewberry's new line, Heirloom, in that day, and had the bolts stacked up in the back room. I had just been drooling over the line online earlier that day, and have to say that it was even more beautiful in person.

I ended up purchasing the Saphire color-way, but I have to say that the Citrine color-way is just as gorgeous. I think I actually love it even more, but wouldn't have been as perfect for my quilt as the brighter colors will be.

A couple of my favorite prints:

The possibilites are endless with this line! What would you make with it?

Oh, what BEAUTIFUL fabric! I clicked on the other colorway and fell in love completely. So pretty! I almost went to Material Girls last week but missed out. Probably a good thing or I would have spent way too much!

I think the bright colors and patterns demand to be made into an apron with matching pot holders and maybe a placemat or two. Imagine a summer table dressed up in the Citrine colorway??

That man is a designing genius! I saw we stalk him for a girls night out, since he's local. That's not weird, right?
