A Thought...

I just realized the other day that it's almost been a year since we did Go Green Month at Sew Much Ado!  I really enjoyed the whole month of "Green," and was thinking that it might be fun to do it again this March.  For those of you who don't know, during Go Green Month we focused entirely on tutorials, tips, and ideas that encouraged us to take small steps toward a more environmentally friendly life.  For me personally, I wanted to focus on using less and reusing more, and there are some things that I adopted during that month that have made a nice difference in my life (like the reusable swiffer duster cloths - I use them all the time still and love them!).  We had refashioning projects, recipes such as homemade laundry soap, and some fun giveaways.  I feel like we covered a lot of topics last year, but there are so many more that I think we could explore this year!

What do you think?  Would you enjoy it?  Do you have any ideas of what you would like to see?  I'd love to hear your thoughts!

p.s. The Shabby Apple Dress Giveaway ends tomorrow night, so get your entry in if you haven't yet!

Sounds interesting. I'm a newer blogger, and am not sure exactly what kind of "green" things you are referring to. Could you give us some examples or link us to a past post for inspiration?

Barefoot Apron - Thanks! I was just thinking that and updated the post to explain a bit more about what we did last year. Hope that helps!

I love the idea of Go Green Month! I started sewing last fall and my friend sent me a link to your toddler ruffle skirt made from t-shirts. It turned out great and I'm addicted to refashioning now. In our efforts to become more environmentally friendly we've learned that doing things that is good for the environment is also good for us. Thank you so much for your ideas and tutorials!

Great idea!
A while back, I started knitting and using re-usable Swiffer Wet Jet pads out of yarn I had in my stash. I don't really have a set pattern, but I'd love to make up a tutorial! It requires only basic knitting skills and about a minute of hand sewing.

You can see a sample (photos only)of what I mean at: Sew Many Dreams

I was just thinking about this and wanting to do some of this on my blog too! I am planning on posting things like home made lotion, chap stick and deodorant. I just made the home made deodorant and I LOVE it and it was SUPER easy and only has three ingredients. It's definitely worth a try. I know those aren't "craft" projects but they are perfect for green month! :)
