Birdie Burpy.

I think this is my favorite applique so far. I can't show the whole burp cloth cause I'm giving it to my sister tomorrow (when I go to Canada - yay!), and since she's already seen all of her other gifts I made her thanks to this blog, I need to hide it a bit. I couldn't resist posting part of it though since I haven't posted in a bit and am going to be away for the next week. The good news is that I've said good bye to my Bleeker Street fabric except for a few scraps.

I need ideas.

Okay, so I have a bunch of Ikea fabric that I need to use (ya know, my stupid rule), but I need some ideas of what to do with it. Originally I wanted to do a wall hanging, but I think I want to actually sew something with it now. I've been wanting to make a bag, but I worry that it will look really dirty really fast because of the white background, and I like things to be extremely functional, or I won't get any use out of it. A bag isn't totally out of the question though. I don't want to make curtains with it either... Or maybe I do? I'd really love some ideas, please let me know if you have any!

Th-th-th-that's all folks.

My last two bibs are done. I think I like appliqueing with felt the best because it's so fast and easy compared to minky. Minky is still easy, but takes more time and patience. You won't have to see another post from me about bibs for a while... I hope. Burp cloths, on the other hand...

p.s. Guess what is funny? By reading this post one would probably think that I've just finished making 20 or 30 bibs. The total was actually only 7 (8 if you count my first tie bib), and I started them over a month ago. That's awkward.

Two to go.

No, bibs are not my life. I just unfortunately cut a bunch out at once so that I would have to make them all. As much as I am sick of them, it is working, and I only have two left after the three I finished this afternoon. It feels really good too to use up my leftover Bleeker Street fabric from the blanket I made for Wyatt. I HATE having bits and pieces of leftover fabric taking up space in my sewing bins and even more I hate unfinished projects. I have a rule for myself that I cannot start a new project until I complete the ones that I've been avoiding. I mostly stick to this rule and it works great for me. Can you tell that I really want to start a card table playhouse?

Card Table Playhouse.

I just stumbled across the cutest idea. It is a card table playhouse. The playhouse just slips over the card table and can be taken off for storage. I need to make one ASAP for Wyatt, although the girly ones look so much cuter I think (and more fun to make!). The lady that made the one above sells them on Etsy, check out her store here. She has made some other really cute ones too, so make sure to look at them all. If I were a kid I would love one.

Here is another one that someone made:
More pictures and the post about this lady's playhouse tent can be found here.

Update: see my completed card table playhouse here!

First Etsy sale.

I had half forgotton about my Etsy shop since I've been busy and only had one item posted, and I really don't like selling things, but yesterday I got a surprise email that my one item had sold! What a nice person to purchase from a seller that has no feedback and only one item in her shop. I got the pacifier clip mailed out to her today and I hope she loves it!

It also motivated me to post some more pacifier clips, and maybe, just maybe, I'll actually post some bibs too soon.

Blogger Follower.

Do you ever find random blogs that you love but then somehow forget about them and never see them again until you stumble upon them months later? I do all the time, but I recently learned about blogger's "Follower" feature. It's great, you just put in the blogs that you want to keep track of, and then it keeps track of all of them and let's you see any new posts all in one place! I have been loving it. Just go to your dashboard and you can find it there.

p.s. The best part is that you can also see who is following your blog too. I just got my first follower, and I thought she definately needs a shout-out! Check out her blog here.

More tie bibs.

I am slowing getting some bibs done that I had started "assembly line" style. I figured I'd actually complete more in the end that way. Doc (as in Doc Holiday, Wyatt Earp's sidekick? -- Joel says that's what Wyatt named the bear) had to step in as my model today cause Wyatt was napping and lately it seems like that's the only time I can get much done. Funny, Doc was a lot easier to photograph than Wyatt usually is.

It gets better.

Don't worry, I'm not going to post every time I get a good deal, but I had to post this one. At Albertson's today I got:
12 Yoplait yogurt cups
6 Progresso vegetable soup cans
4 Progresso bread crumbs (not 4 crumbs, 4 containers of crumbs :))
My grand total? $1.24! Plus, the store was out of Green Giant vegetable steamers and a couple other things that I got rain checks for, which will all be free, so you can add them to my list too!

I paid what?

Seriously, I am so excited. Over the summer I kinda got into doing the whole "coupon game" but after we moved back to AZ I took a break. Not anymore! Here's some of my deals I got in the last couple of days between coupons and sales and rebates:

I got all this from CVS last night for a total of $0.73 (and that's including tax, I would have actually made money if it wasn't for tax). It normally would been about $28.00.

My total for all this (2 double packs of mascara, 2 Hershey's chocolate bags (free), 2 Tums (free), and 2 Suave deoderants (about $0.19 each) was $2.53.

This totalled about $2.50. The toilet paper and Loreal face cloths ended up being free.

To my friends that live in the United States, you need to learn how to do this. It's great to save money, but even better it's like a game, and if you're a cheapo like me, it's really fun. If you're in the Phoenix area you can go to Coupon Sense to learn about it, or I also like Coupon Mom and Money Saving Mom if you live further away.
